Not just India, Tablighi Jamaat a super spreader in Pakistan as well- and can become a problem in Canada too
Tablighi Jamaat, the super spreader of the coronavirus in India appears to have caused a spike in the coronavirus positive cases in Pakistan, too.
Earlier Indian media had reported that as many as 1,023 Covid-19 positive cases found in 17 states have been traced to the Tablighi Jamaat congregation, with about 30 per cent of the total coronavirus cases in the country being linked to one Jammat meeting.

The Muslim loving western press had of course called the reports communal.
But now the Tabligh have caused problems in a Muslim country as well. So not communal any more?
A Pakistan news channel has featured an interview with Yasmin Rashid, Health of Punjab province in Pakistan. Half of the cases in Pakistan have come from Punjab, which is also the largest province.
Rashid said the main reason behind the jump in cases in the province has been the Tablighi Jamaat. She said that out of the 2004 postive cases of COVID-19 reported so far, 1314 were linked to Tablighi Jamaat.
So, what is the Tablighi Jamaat and why have we not heard of them? Did they escape the radar so far because they are primarily breeding grounds for intellectualizing the hatred of the West, Israel and India as enemies of Islam?
According to The Times in London, the group has a strong presence in Britain and has been accused by foreign intelligence agencies of becoming a recruitment ground for foreign extremist organizations.
Mohammad Sidique Khan, leader of the 7/7 bombers who killed 55 people in London in 2005, and fellow attacker Shehzad Tanweer, both attended the Tablighi Jamaat’s mosque in Yorkshire.
Similarly, Shoe Bomber Richard Reid who tried to detonate explosives packed in his shoe during a flight from Paris to Miami in December 2001, also attended the Jamaat’s U.K. mosques while the youngest of the London Bridge attackers too was associated with the Islamic group. Youssef Zaghba attended meetings of Tablighi Jamaat while studying in Morocco before moving to London two years ago.

Jamaat is headquartered in Scarborough, Toronto (Madina Mosque) from where its activities in Canada are carried out freely. The Jamaat focuses its work in areas having high Muslim population concentrations and is active in proselytizing and conversion activities.
Since 2017, the Tablighis have made targeted attempts to proselytize and convert the First Naton populations in Canada’s interior. Most recently in September-October 2019, 25 members of the group traveled to interior areas such as Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, Peace River, Yellowknife and Hay River for proselytization activities.
